Ally Namangaya - Director

Ally Hassan, Director of PAMS Ally Namangaya is a Director of the PAMS Foundation on a part-time basis. He has a Masters Degree in Regional Development Planning and Management and is currently completing his PhD with a Dortmund University, Germany. He is a lecturer at Ardhi University, School of Urban and Regional Planning and specializes in rural development, participatory natural resource management, remote sensing and geographical information systems.

Ally has 7 years work experience in teaching, researching and consultancy in participatory/land use planning and management, and 5 years experience in capacity building training at district and village levels.

Ally is a member of the African Good Governance Network, Association for Biosphere Reserve Research and Communication, and is secretary to the Tanzanian Chairman of the Spring International Association of Development Planners.

Krissie Clark - Founding member and Executive Director

Krissie Clark, founding member and executive directorKrissie Clark is a founding member and Executive Director of the PAMS Foundation. She holds a M.Sc in Botany and a B.Sc Honours in Wildlife Management. She has over 12 years experience in ecology, research, project management, participatory community natural resource management, ecotourism, environmental impact assessment, financial administration, GIS, management effectiveness assurance, environmental education and conservation management.

Krissie has several years project management experience including being the Invasive Alien Species Program Co-ordinator for Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife (South Africa) and managing a budget of 3.5. million USD a year and that educated, trained and employed over 1700 local community members. Poverty reduction, gender equity, HIV/AIDS education and prevention were important and integral components of this program. She was also formerly the Project Manager for the Zululand Grassland Project (University of Cape Town, South Africa).

Krissie provides professional consulting services through Eco Insight CC. She is also a volunteer member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas and of the Game Rangers Association of Africa and part of their team involved in ensuring management effectiveness of protected areas. Krissie is co-author and lecturer of the ‘Ensuring Effective Management Course’ which is taught at the Southern Africa Wildlife College.

Wayne Lotter - Founding Member and Chairman

Wayne Lotter, founding member and chairman Wayne Lotter is a founding member and chairman of the PAMS Foundation. He has a Masters Degree in Nature Conservation and he has 20 years of professional experience in wildlife management, conservation and environmental management, and community liaison and has worked in government, corporate and NGO sectors. Wayne has excellent project management experience, which includes his current employment as the International Team Leader for the Selous-Niassa Wildlife Protection Corridor Project (KfW) in southern Tanzania. He was formerly the Invasive Alien Species Programme Co-ordinator for Ezemvelo KwaZulu-Natal Wildlife (managing a substantial budget).

Wayne's experience includes protected area management, project management, financial administration, community development, ecotourism, restoration ecology, integrated environmental, quality, safety and health systems management, risk management systems auditing and certification. He is experienced with regard to strategic and operational planning in conservation and forestry areas.

Wayne is the Vice President of the International Ranger Federation (IRF) and Game Rangers Association of Africa (GRAA), led the development of a Protected Area Management System (PAMS), which is endorsed by WWF Tanzania and being used as a tool to impel and ensure effective conservation management. He is co-author of the ‘Ensuring Effective Management Course’ which is a Module presented at the Southern Africa Wildlife College. Wayne has served on various committees, working groups and associations. He is currently also the Vice Chairman (& past Chairman) of the GRAA and the former African Representative for the IRF, was founder and scientific advisor for the Alien Invader Task Group of the South African National Parks Honorary Rangers and has been a specialist advisor for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, Range Management Section (Tanzania).

Josepher Mwenda - Secretary

Josepher Mwenda, secretaryJosepher Mwenda holds a Bachelor Degree in Law from Tumaini University (Iringa, Tanzania) and aims to maximise her skills and knowledge to the benefit of conservation.
